Construction of Viega's Ohio Plant Nears the Finish Line

Viega's commitment to advancing U.S. manufacturing and strengthening the communities we call home is taking shape in Mantua, Ohio. Construction crews continue to make exciting progress, and we are gearing up to serve our customers with even greater speed, efficiency and innovation.
If you have been following our journey, you know the Mantua plant represents more than just a building. It represents a major investment in American industry, local economic growth and the future of Viega's service capabilities.
Today, we are thrilled to share the latest milestones that bring us even closer to full operations and highlight how this facility will help us deliver on our promise of installing lifelines for the buildings of tomorrow.
All Systems Go
We are excited to announce that permanent power to the facility was activated on February 25. This crucial step has resulted in us being able to swiftly get all systems online and our equipment operational. We have also successfully set up the facility's Wi-Fi and IT server room, ensuring seamless connectivity across the plant.

Bringing in the Heavy Equipment
Another exciting leap forward is installing our first major production equipment, the Elbow Press Machine. This machinery will play a key role in our manufacturing operations and marks the beginning of an exciting new phase in expanding our North American footprint. All the equipment for the first line has arrived, been installed and FAT has begun. As of this month, we're on track for sellable production by July 1st and are anticipating the arrival of more equipment by the end of May.
Built to the Highest Standards
Safety has been a top priority since day one of the construction process. Our MegaPress® fire suppression system is now fully installed, reinforcing our commitment to the highest safety standards and ensuring the plant is protected and secure.
Sustainability is top-of-mind for this new location and our commitment to energy use and waste reduction, including our ambitious goals for carbon neutrality. From environmentally conscious construction practices to all-electric machinery, we are building a plant that reflects our responsibility to the environment and future generations.
Gathering the Team
Our team is coming together, too. The first wave of employees has successfully transitioned from training at our Kansas facility to full-time work in Ohio. Their talent, expertise and energy are already helping to shape the culture and success of the new plant.
