On the Road with Viega

October 16, 2025 | Viega

When the Viega Roadshow truck pulls into a parking lot, it brings more than just a branded vehicle on display; here, visitors find a rolling classroom and a hands-on training space for the future of the trades. For contractors, apprentices and distributors, it offers something you can’t get from a catalog or online video: the chance to press, test and inspect the fittings and systems that are shaping the future of mechanical and plumbing work.

A Mobile Lab for Press Technology

Showcasing Viega press technology is the Roadshow’s priority, an innovative method that replaces traditional soldering, brazing or welding with a mechanical press connection. Using specialized jaws and a press tool, fittings are secured in seconds without the need for open flame, saving valuable time and keeping jobsites safer.

Visitors can step onboard the truck for live demos of:

ProPress®: Copper and stainless-steel fittings rated for potable water, hydronics and gas applications.

MegaPress®: Carbon steel and stainless press systems designed for black iron pipe, ideal for gas lines, hydronics and compressed air.

PureFlow® PEX: Flexible PEX tubing and fittings for residential and commercial plumbing.

Radiant and hydronic heating systems: Showcasing how Viega’s press and distribution systems integrate into energy-efficient building designs.

The Roadshow Experience

The Roadshow truck itself is engineered for interaction. Slide-outs expand the demo space, while fold-out stages create a platform for group training sessions. Technical reps walk visitors through product specifications and code compliance.

Our distribution partners at Reece recently hosted a stop when the Roadshow visited Denver, Colorado, and we got in on the action. Some Viega team members met with contractors, distributors and trade pros from across the region to hear their feedback and learn how ProPress, MegaPress and PureFlow systems help them create cleaner, safer jobsites. Between interactive demos, giveaways and great conversations, the Denver stop reinforced the Roadshow’s mission: bringing innovation and training directly to the professionals who keep the industry moving.

At one stop at a Texas training college, apprentices lined up to test ProPress fittings on copper tubing. For many, it was their first time working with press systems. After a quick safety overview, they made their first presses in under a minute, an eye-opening shift compared to soldering copper with torches and water-soaked rags. An instructor noted that this hands-on exposure accelerates student confidence. “They see how fast and reliable press technology is, and it changes how they think about jobsite productivity.”

Building Relationships Along the Way

Beyond the technical demonstrations, the Roadshow also serves as a hub for networking. Local distributors often host stops, giving contractors a chance to meet with both supply house reps and Viega specialists in one place. Raffles, giveaways and tool demos sweeten the event, but the real value comes from direct conversations about jobsite challenges.

By the end of a stop, attendees often leave not just with brochures, but with a new perspective on how to streamline their installations and, in some cases, a new press tool in hand from a raffle.

Looking Down the Road

The Viega Roadshow continues to travel across the U.S., visiting supply houses, union halls and training schools. Each stop is another opportunity for contractors and apprentices to experience press technology firsthand, ask tough technical questions and witness how these systems can improve their workflow.

For an industry rooted in trust and performance, there’s no better proof than pressing a joint yourself. That’s the promise of the Viega Roadshow. It’s more than a demo. It’s a pathway into the future of the industry.
